About Me

While my professional career has run the gamut from bookseller to assistant district attorney, tutoring has always been a common thread and was destined to become my full-time calling. I have helped students prepare for a variety of standardized exams and subject matters since 1996, and love the challenge of finding the best way for each student to learn.
In 1994 I was awarded a bachelors degree in Mathematics from Central Connecticut State University, and in 2002 I earned a juris doctorate from NYU School of Law. More important than any degree, though, is my passion for math and puzzles, for words and games. I'm one of those rare individuals who actually enjoys the test-taking process; I attack each question with enthusiasm, eager to unlock the next one. This unusual passion for word games and math puzzles began in childhood and developed over many years. I have fond memories of solving the richly illustrated word-cross puzzles my mom created for me, while the blackboard in our basement inspired my dad to teach me the basics of algebra while I was in grade school. A true love of reading and interest in Latin put me on the path to learn and synthesize new vocabulary.
While I can't assure you that you'll want to curl up with a good SAT or geometric proof in your spare time, I promise to use my enthusiasm and experience to help you feel more comfortable and confident in class and on test day.
